What does Lace Front mean?

A wig with mesh at the hairline is called a lace front wig. The mesh is normally a neutral skin color for your natural hairline to show through. This allows wig wearers to show their natural hairline. Most lace front wigs will go from temple to temple.

What are the benefits of lace front?

The benefits of having a lace front wig is that when you wear it, people cannot tell you are wearing a wig. The mesh mimics the wearer's natural hair growth. Wearers will be able to style their hair away from their face without the fear of exposing their wig cap.

How do you apply a lace front?

When you first get your wig, use pinking shears to trim as close to your hairline as possible. Once the lace is trimmed the way you want it, prepare your hair by making it as flat as possible. Be sure to clean your hairline of any excess oils to make sure the adhesive sticks to your head. Apply tape or glue to the area of your hairline. After the adhesive becomes sticky, the wig is ready to be put on your head. Ensure the lace is securely pressed down onto your forehead and now you are ready to go!

Do all lace front wigs require adhesive?

Not all lace front wigs need tape or glue. Newer styles only have the lace lay flat from temple to temple so there is no need for any adhesive. However, other traditional lace front wigs will require some tape or glue.

Do all lace front wigs need to be cut or modified?

Not all lace front wigs need to be cut or modified. There are newer styles that have the lace pre-cut for you. It is ready to wear straight from the box and you do not need to modify it.
